What are the best conditions for displaying my prints?
Keeping the prints in the right environment will maximize their life.
- Avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading overtime.
- Pollutants such as smoke will also negatively impact the lifespan of the media.
- Excess humidity may cause molding. Extremely low humidity will cause the wood stretcher frame to shrink, which may make the stretch less tight and result in sagging. This effect is temporary and will go away once it returns to a normal humidity range.
- The lighting conditions also affect how the prints will be viewed. Our monitors and printers are calibrated to ambient light conditions of D50 (5000K daylight). Viewing under different light conditions may affect how the colors are perceived by your eyes.
How long will the canvas last?
The materials we use are guaranteed to last over 100 years. As a result, we can offer a lifetime guarantee for our canvases.
How do I clean the canvas?
The canvases are quite durable once given our protective coating and should resist most scratches, smudges, fingerprints, etc. You can dust canvases with a soft, dry cloth. Should the canvas get nicked and loose ink in a certain area, it can be touched up with waterproof felt-tip markers or touch-up paint.
What is the best way to hang the canvas?
Our gallery wrap canvas can be hung directly to the wall without framing. You can select from a number of hanging hardware options, including sawtooth, hanging wire, three-point security hardware, and more.
Orders
How do I order?
Our ordering process is simple. Upload the photo on our order page and make your product selections from there. Please make sure the file size is large enough to ensure a high-quality print when enlarged.
Can I get a Wholesale or Volume discount?
Through Lumaprints, you receive a low price level that will allow you to resell your prints at a nice profit. However, high-volume orders shipping to a single destination do allow for economies of scale. If you have a project that requires special pricing, please contact us at 800-380-6038.
How can I ensure color accuracy?
We understand that color accuracy is very important to the professionals we are working with. Our monitors and printers are calibrated regularly to ensure that our canvas prints match the color details in your file. We recommend that you calibrate your monitor as well. We can also send you a hard proof of your image printed on canvas so you can see exactly how the colors and brightness details will be. There is no charge for this service, other than the cost of postage (Usually around $5.20). Please make sure you have an extra week before your deadline before requesting a hard proof.
What are the different wrapping options?

Yes. We can use USPS and FedEx Smartpost with some size restrictions.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we have reactivated international shipping with the USPS shipping method for the time being. Please note that USPS charges the recipient the customs tax. Additionally, we have removed Germany from our shipping list due to recent updates and additional requirements in their shipping regulations. FedEx/UPS remains unavailable, so we cannot ship out larger prints internationally at this time.
Can you reroute the package?
In some cases, yes! Package rerouting is available for certain FedEx services only. It does not apply to FedEx Ground Economy and USPS shipments. We have 2 ways of packing our fine art paper prints. Any size from 8×10 and below is by default mailed in cardboard stay-flat envelopes, while larger prints are shipped in kraft triangle mailing tubes. Image Set Up
What file format should I use?
Recommended file formats are JPG and PNG. We can also accept files in PDF and AI, but don’t recommend them since there are occasional (although rare) cases where the file format is not correctly converted prior to printing.
What color space should I use for sending my print files?
We print using the Adobe RGB color space. If you send a file in sRGB, we will convert it to AdobeRGB prior to printing. The conversion process from sRGB to AdobeRGB should not affect the colors.
How do I choose the proper sized photo?
Typically, the larger the print size, the higher the definition the photo should be. If the file size is too small, the image will become pixelated when printed on larger sizes.
| Size | Minimum DPI (72 DPI) | Optimal Canvas DPI (200 DPI) | Optimal Fine Art DPI (300 DPI) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8×10 | 576×720 | 1600×2000 | 2400×3000 |
| 11×14 | 792×1008 | 2200×2800 | 3300×4200 |
| 16×20 | 1152×1440 | 3200×4000 | 4800×6000 |
| 20×24 | 1440×1728 | 4000×4800 | 6000×7200 |

The resolution from most digital cameras works perfectly for our photo canvas product.
If your camera is 5 mega pixel or higher and the photo was taken at the highest setting you won’t have a problem.
If you’re not sure about any of that, you can check the file size by right clicking on your image, then, click on properties, where the size will be displayed. Compare that number to the recommended resolutions listed above.
Please note, the sizes listed in the table are the popular sizes we have seen.
If you are not familiar with what resolution you can or can not use, please message [email protected]
How much extra bleed do you need to accommodate the wrap?
This is only for Image Wraps and if you’re concerned of what contents stay in the front. For 1.5″ wraps, we need an additional 2″ added to each side, and for the 0.75″ wraps, we need an additional 1″ added to each side. For example, a 16x20x1.5″ will need to actually be sized at 20×24″ with the bleed included.
Can you check if the image is good to use?
Yes, we can check if the image is of good quality for the size you are ordering. You can attach the image file in your email, or if it’s larger than 100mb, you can send the file via WeTransfer.
Replacements
What if my canvas arrives damaged?
We are extremely careful to package your canvas to protect it from moisture and impact. However, if the canvas should be damaged upon arrival, please contact us with pictures and descriptions of the damage, including images of the packaging. We will send out a replacement as soon as possible.
What is your return policy?
We offer a lifetime guarantee for quality and workmanship of our canvases. If there are any defects with the canvas, we will send you a replacement or a refund. However, our quality guarantee cannot cover dissatisfaction based on low image quality due to a low-resolution picture submitted. If you would like to return the canvas for a refund, and there are no defects or workmanship issues, we ask that you cover the cost of the return shipment.
