What is the best conditions for displaying my prints?

Keeping the prints in the right environment will maximize their life.

  • Direct sunlight will cause the colors to fade prematurely.
  • Pollutants such as smoke will also negatively impact the lifespan of the media.
  • Excess humidity may cause molding. Extreme low humidity will cause the wood stretcher frame to shrink which may cause the stretch to be less tight and result in sagging. This effect is temporary and will go away once it returns to a normal humidity range.
  • The lighting conditions also affect how the prints will be viewed. Our monitors and printers are calibrated to ambient light conditions of D50 (5000K daylight). Viewing under different light conditions may affect how the colors are perceived by your eyes. The archival eco-solvent inks are more sensitive to display color temperatures. If your prints will be displayed under warmer lighting conditions (yellow) we recommend you select the option for the archival pigment inks (with or without varnish) rather than the archival eco-solvent inks.

How long will the canvas last?

The materials we use are guaranteed to last over 100 years. As a result, we can offer a lifetime guarantee for our canvases.

How do I clean the canvas?

The canvases are quite durable once given our protective coating and should resist most scratches, smudges, fingerprints, etc.
You can dust canvases with a soft, dry cloth. If your canvas needs deeper cleaning you may try a damp cloth but we cannot guarantee or recommend this.
Should the canvas get nicked and loose ink in a certain area, it can be touched up with waterproof felt-tip markers or touch-up paint.

What is the best way to hang the canvas?

Our gallery wrap canvas can be hung directly to the wall without framing.
If you select our rolled canvas or 0.75″ thick option, we recommend that they be framed. We include the hanging hardware loose free of charge.
If you would like us to install it prior to shipment, the extra cost will be $1.50 per canvas. If you need us to install a Black Backboard backing with hanging wire installed, the extra charge is $8.50 per canvas

Orders

How do I order?

Our ordering process is simple. Upload the photo on our order page. Please make sure the file size is large enough to ensure a high quality print when enlarged. Alternatively, the photo can be emailed to us at [email protected].

Can I get a Wholesale or Volume discount?

Through Lumaprints, you receive a low price level that will allow you to resell your canvas at a nice profit.
However, high volume orders shipping to a single destination, does allow for economies of scale. If you have a project that requires special pricing, please contact us at 949-524-9351.

How can I ensure color accuracy?

We understand that color accuracy if very important to the professionals we are working with.
Our monitors and printers are calibrated regularly to ensure that our canvas prints match the color details in your file.
We recommend that you calibrate your monitor as well to make sure what you are viewing on your screen is what we see from our end as well. Some low cost calibration devices are the X-Rite ColorMunki, or Datacolor Spyder4.
There are different versions of these devices, but even the lowest cost one will be able to calibrate your display better than what can be done with just your eyes. If you attempt to calibrate with out a device, your computer should have a walkthough wizard to help you with this. If you have a PC, here is an article that can help: http: //www.pcworld.com/article/241957/how_to_calibrate_your_monitor.html
We can also send you a hard proof of your image printed on canvas so you can see exactly how the colors and brightness details will be. Please contact us via email ([email protected]) an attach a copy of the image.
We will print it on a size of approximately 8×10″ rolled canvas and ship it to you via a USPS flat rate envelope. There is no charge for this service, other than the cost of postage (Usually around $5.20).
However, please make sure you have an extra week before your deadline before requesting a hard proof.

What are the different wrapping options?

To offer our customers flexibility, we provide our canvas in several wrapping options.
The simplest is our rolled canvas. We will provide instructions for stretching, or alternatively, you can take it to your framer to have this done.
Next, we can provide a pre-stretched canvas onto 0.75 inch thick wooden bars. This option is recommended for framing. If you wish to mount the canvas on the wall without framing, we recommend our 1.5 inch thick stretcher bars.

I do not see a canvas size that I want. Can you provide custom dimensions?

Yes! We can mix and match any length stretcher bar listed and we also have less common lengths in stock. Please contact us at: [email protected] for details.

Are there any restrictions on the types of photos you can print?

We are capable of printing any digital image. There are no restrictions on what can be printed, although we do reserve the right to refuse orders if the contents are deemed offensive.
Additionally, if the images are copyrighted, you must have permission from the copyright owner for reproduction.

How long does it take for my canvas to be ready?

The canvases will be ready to ship after 48-72 hours of receiving your order. Please add to this the transit time listed above.
If you request any special modifications or non-standard special effects, we will send you the edited image for your approval prior to printing. Based on this, please add any required approval time to the production period.

How can I order my paper print if the image size has 1/8" or 3/4" extra on the image (ISO SIZES - a4, a2, a3, etc)

Yes, if you live in southern California, you can pick up your canvas at our showroom. The available pick-up times are Monday to Friday 10 AM – 3:30 PM. Our address is: 955 E Ball Rd., Anaheim, CA, 92805

How will the canvas be shipped?

The canvases will be shipped via USPS, FedEx, FedEx Smarpost or UPS.
Sizes starting from 47x60in are automatically shipped via Freight.

What are the shipping charges?

Shipping costs vary on the size and weight of the canvas as well as the location it is being shipped to. The Shipping section on our Pricing Page lists some estimated shipping costs.

What is the shipping time?

After the print is ready to ship, the shipping time will be based on your location. Please see the map below for approximate shipping times. Please contact us at: [email protected] for international shipping times.

Can I dropship to my customers?

Yes! We can ship to an alternate address.
Please indicate this in during checkout. If you would like us to include a special message, please note this in the special instructions section while ordering.
Our name and address will not appear on the shipping label and we will omit our marketing from the package.

Can you ship to a PO Box?

Yes. We can use USPS and FedEx Smartpost with some size restrictions.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we have reactivated international shipping with USPS shipping method for the meantime. Please note that USPS charges the recipient with the customs tax. Additionally, we have removed Germany from our shipping list due to recent updates and additional requirements in their shipping regulations.

FedEx/UPS remains unavailable, so we cannot ship out larger prints internationally at this time.

FedEx and UPS cause issues for us because they only provide us shipping fees, excluding charges for customs clearance and duties. These charges are often billed back to us about a month after shipping, resulting in losses as they exceed what we charge our customers for prints.

Additionally, they frequently disregard our request to dispose of undeliverable packages. Instead, they return them to us and bill us at list rates (which are several times higher than the original shipping cost).

In contrast, the US Postal Service does not bill us for customs fees, duties, or returns. However, in our experience, a significant percentage of their shipments arrive damaged or get lost in transit.

Can you reroute the package?

Yes, of course. we can reroute your package to any location you wish to.
Rerouting the package costs around $18 with additional cost for the transportation fee that will have a total cost of around $40.
But if you wish to reroute the package in a completely different state, the total charge is estimated to reach up to $70.

I want to ship my paper prints flat. Is that possible?

Yes, we can accommodate your request. Please leave a note under Special Instructions section when placing the order so we can inform our team about your request.

How are paper prints shipped?

We have 2 ways in packing our paper prints. Any size from 8×10 and below are mailed inside cardboard stay flat envelopes, while any print larger than that are mailed inside kraft mailing tubes.

We do accommodate flat shipping for larger prints upon request. Please keep in mind that it comes with added charges.

If you opt to have your paper prints shipped flat, simply indicate your request in the Special Instructions section when placing your order. Our team will contact you via email with the details of the final shipping charge.

Image Set Up

What file format should I use?

Recommended file formats are JPG and PNG.
We can also accept files in PDF and AI, but don’t recommend them since there are occasional (although rare) cases where the file format is not correctly converted prior to printing.

What color space should I use for sending my print files?

We print using the Adobe RGB color space. If you send a file in sRGB, we will convert it to AdobeRGB prior to printing. The conversion process from sRGB to AdobeRGB does not affect the colors.

How should I set-up my bleeds?

Please take a look at our step-by-step instructions on how to properly set your bleeds to get your perfect print! Please Click Here!

How do I choose the proper sized photo?

Typically, the larger the print size, the higher the definition the photo should be. If the file size is too small, the image will become pixelated when printed on larger sizes. To ensure a high-quality print, please make sure the approximate resolutions are used for your digital images:

Size Minimum DPI (72 DPI) Optimal Canvas DPI (200 DPI) Optimal Fine Art DPI (300 DPI)
8×10 576×720 1600×2000 2400×3000
11×14 792×1008 2200×2800 3300×4200
16×20 1152×1440 3200×4000 4800×6000
20×24 1440×1728 4000×4800 6000×7200
24×36 1728×2592 4800×7200 7200×10800

The resolution from most digital cameras works perfectly for our photo canvas product.
If your camera is 5 mega pixel or higher and the photo was taken at the highest setting you won’t have a problem.
If you’re not sure about any of that, you can check the file size by right clicking on your image, then, click on properties, where the size will be displayed. Compare that number to the recommended resolutions listed above.
Please note, the sizes listed in the table are the popular sizes we have seen.
If you are not familiar with what resolution you can or can not use, please message [email protected]

How much extra bleed do you need to accommodate the wrap?

In order to accommodate the wrap, we need some extra to pull around the stretcher bars.
For 1.5” wraps, we need an additional 2” added to each side and for the 0.75” wraps, we need an additional 1” added to each side.
For example, a 16x20x1.5” will need to actually be sized at 20×24” with the bleed included and a 16x20x0.75” will need to actually be sized at 18×22” with the bleed included.

Can you check if the image is good to use?

Yes, we can check if the image is in good quality for the size you are ordering.
You can attach the image file in your email or if its larger than 20mb, you can send the file via Wetransfer to [email protected] and our team will have it checked out for you.

Can you crop or resize the image for me?

Yes, of course! we can crop or resize the image for you and send you a preview before proceeding in processing the order.
