You have joined millions of artisans on Etsy to sell beautifully crafted masterpieces and print on demand products to online buyers around the world. Everything on the checklist has been accomplished, from preparing inventory to setting up an Etsy shop. The question that remains is "How do I get found in search?" The millions before you have pondered the same thing, fearing that the shear number of shops available decreases their chance of being noticed. Well, these quick tips may ease your mind on the matter.

1. Research keywords

Similar to getting found on Google, you have to use the right keywords to reel in customers to your Etsy shop. Utilize tools such as Google Keyword Planner to get ideas by analyzing search estimates, competition, and related keywords. Keywords with lower search volumes or those containing specific attributes are good choices to generate relevant traffic. Make a list of the keywords you find as reference and for future use.

2. Use Etsy's search bar

Aside from keyword tools, Etsy's search bar can give invaluable insights on how your customers search for products. Type your product. The words that appear below are the popular search terms customers use. Do the same for synonyms or related terms as well. You can pattern your titles, descriptions, and tags to those common wording or phrases.

3. Optimize your Etsy shop

Optimizing your Etsy shop is essential not only to be visible in Etsy search but also in Google. It gives shoppers an idea about your shop and products so make sure that you use accurate and descriptive words. Apply the keywords and phrases you've listed to your Etsy shop's page title, meta description, policies, about page and profile.

4. Optimize your product listing

Plug in the same keywords and phrases throughout the title, tags, description, and attributes. Put the most important words first, both in the title and in the description. Maximize limited number of tags by using a combination of phrases and single words. Arrange everything in a way that entices customers and informs them at the same time.

5. Check your statistics

Nothing is set in stone. The whole process is a cycle: analyze, do, repeat. That's what your Shop Stats are for. Browse through them regularly to check on your progress and identify areas of improvement. Eliminate keywords that are not working for you, and stick to those that work.

6. Deliver great customer service

Complete your shipping profiles, shop policies, and About page. Attend to customer matters with due diligence. Take necessary steps to ensure that your customers get a positive experience transacting with you. All these steps encourage buyers to leave a great review that impacts your performance in Etsy search.
